In April 2019 the new musical season returns, while throughout the winter the Mortella will be open by appointment The 2018 concert season of the William Walton Foundation, which has spent six months of musical programming, draws to a close and will be closed by two different ensembles of young musicians: Saturday, October 27 will perform the duo formed by violinist Ivos Margoni and pianist Giulia Loperfido and Sunday, October 28 will be the turn of the viola and piano Alfonso Avitabile – Enrico Angelozzi. The duo Margoni-Loperfido, despite its young age, has already reported first prizes to innumerable national and international competitions and both have perfected themselves with masters of great fame: currently Ivos is continuing his studies at the Stauffer Foundation of Cremona with the famous violinist Salvatore Accardo. The program that will present at the Mortella includes some of the greatest masterpieces of violin literature of all time: sonata by Brahms and Prokofiev and the Tzigane by Ravel will be performed, a famous page of great beauty and virtuosity for both instruments. The Avitabile duo -Angelozzi has performed in the most important Italian and European theaters and theaters: the violist Alfonso Avitabile perfected himself in Germany in the famous Academy MusikHochshule “Leopold Mozart” in Augsburg and has given concerts in many European music centers. pianist Enrico Angelozzi was Maestro di Sala and assistant in various Italian theaters, also collaborating with famous directors. The refined program for viola and piano that the duo Avitabile -Angelozzi will perform in the concert on Sunday will start from the nineteenth century by Schubert and Brahms to the twentieth century of Prokofiev. Both concerts will be held at 5.00 pm in the Sala Recite in the heart of the garden. The 2019 Foundation concert season will resume the first week of April with the usual weekly program. Meanwhile, the Giardini la Mortella will not go “hibernating”: by appointment they can also be visited in the winter months to admire the beautiful blooms of the cold season that can give the garden unprecedented flames of colors and a wonderful foliage.
